Reebok Women's Dmx Max Fusion Walking Shoe Review
In the spring, there was an article recommending this style of shoes for overweight walkers. I thought that I was in heaven! And, to their credit, these shoes were pretty comfortable for the first few weeks. Quick background: I'm relatively overweight. I wear my sneakers for 2-3 hours daily walking my dog. And I walk primarily on sidewalks, rarely on gravel trails.
I first wore my shoes out for a brief walk after a rain. Be Careful!! The air pockets with slip very easily on metal or smooth paint. Almost took a header a few times. Around the one month mark, I started to notice the lack of arch support - achy arches and ankles. About two months in, I started to notice a "squishing" noise when I would walk on wet ground. Still, I soldiered on... assuming that it was the first that I was noticing (not the first that it was occurring). Around the three month mark, I started to suffer SEVERE pain in my left arch and ankle. After two or three days of crippling pain, I flipped the shoe over - the soles were completely worn out and THE AIR POCKET WAS EMPTY! Concave air pocket. Awesome.
So, I paid a moderate amount for sneakers that I could wear (uncomfortably) for 3 months.
If you're super skinny and only wear the sneakers for an hour a day, you may be able to get more use out of them. And they were pretty comfortable for the first month (hence the two stars). But overweight walkers beware!!
